Let's learn!

Our class is very interested in stories and nursery ryhmes so this term we will look at creating our own storyboard using Storyboard That.

Using engaging and appropriate ICTs in the classroom enhances your child's experience in the classroom. 'Learning to Learn' strategies will also increase their skills as independent learners.

Creating a storyboard will enhance your child's learning by:

  • Extending the focus on the story and it's structure more than discussions and recounts.

  • A graphic organizer helps structure students work in a fun way. Children think of them as puzzles!

  • Critical-thinking skills are established in analysing the right information.

  • Promote positive group collaboration skills.

  • Students are able to present their boards to their own wider-community, increasing engagement and learning satisfaction.

Here is an example of Storyboard That being used in the classroom (image retrieved from blog).

Mrs Grasso's blog explains that students are able to use the program to display what they have been learning. Constructing a storyboard will ensure your child's learning aligns with the Australian Curriculum.
